Who We Are

WriteChoice is a specialized documentation partner for the world’s most innovative SaaS and API companies. We believe great documentation is the foundation of a great product. Our writers work in squads: a Lead Writer alongside junior and mid-level technical writers, all focused on creating documentation that accelerates product adoption and reduces support load for clients.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior Technical Writer to join our squad. Whether you’re just starting out in technical writing or already have some experience under your belt, we want to hear from you.

At WriteChoice, some of our best writers came from backgrounds as English teachers, translators, or language specialists — not from software companies. If you have a sharp command of English, a natural instinct for clarity, and genuine curiosity about how technology works, we want to hear from you. The tools and technical concepts can be learned; knowing how to communicate precisely to a technical audience is much harder to teach.

You’ll work alongside a Lead Writer who will review your work, give you structured feedback, and help you grow. Every writer at WriteChoice has a clear development path and an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to support it.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation including user guides, API references, and tutorials.
  • Apply project style guides consistently to ensure high-quality, cohesive deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their products, use cases, and user needs.
  • Document API endpoints, including request/response examples, based on specifications and client meetings.
  • Use AI tools to assist in drafting, reviewing, and improving documentation.
  • Proactively communicate progress, blockers, and questions to your Lead Writer and team.
  • Identify and flag gaps or errors in existing documentation.
  • Develop tutorials that simplify complex technical topics for developers and end-users.

Qualifications

  • Language-first mindset: You think carefully about word choice, sentence structure, and how information lands for the reader — not just whether it’s technically correct.
  • Audience awareness: You naturally adapt your tone and level of detail depending on who you’re writing for, whether that’s a developer, a product manager, or a first-time user.
  • Proactive: You ask questions, surface blockers, and take initiative without waiting to be asked.
  • Ownership-driven: You care about the quality of your work and take your commitments seriously.
  • Growth-oriented: You see feedback as a tool, not a criticism, and implement it constructively.
  • Curious: You enjoy learning about new technologies and aren’t intimidated by complex products.
  • Communicator: You’re responsive, transparent, and engaged with your team and clients.

Requirements

  • Advanced written and spoken English.
  • Solid writing skills: clear, structured, and reader-focused.
  • Willingness to learn technical tools and concepts on the job (we’ll support you from day one).
  • Basic familiarity with Markdown, or eagerness to learn it.
  • Some exposure to Git and version control (GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
  • Curiosity about how software and APIs work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience writing technical content (user guides, how-tos, API docs, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control (branches, pull requests).
  • Practical understanding of how REST APIs work (requests, responses, authentication).
  • Familiarity with documentation platforms such as Docusaurus, Mintlify, or Readme.io.
  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.
  • Familiarity with style guides (e.g., Microsoft, Google).
  • Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence prompts, HTML and CSS.

Benefits:

  • Paid Time Off
  • 100% Remote
  • Flexible work hours
  • Career Plan & Development
  • Udemy Business
  • Health Assistance
